ADVANCE PLANNING

v0.8 Alpha Series ~ May-Aug 2022

Finish engine overhaul; focus on stability and core combat gameplay. For playtesting I’ll build out the unfinished mid/endgame battleground levels. Restoring the introductory levels, quests, etc, would be a distraction at this point.

  • Port/rewrite V1 features:
    • Combat features: line of sight, armor, grenade throwing, etc
    • Camera tracking
    • Party following
    • 3D decals, animated textures, etc
  • Finish features postponed from v0.7
    • Combat VFX (blood, gunfire, explosions, throwing)
    • Render weapons in hands
    • Object Picking
  • Engine V2 polishing:
    • Object picking (click directly on NPCs+objects, not just floor tiles)
    • Additional GUI+scripting system rework
  • Combat+AI enhancements
  • Segmented in-game editing: plot phases/chapters AND separate mods
  • Custom font

v0.9 Beta Series ~ September 2022

  • Restore/recreate all content from v0.5
  • Finish all essential content
  • Transparency: depth-sorting or depth-peeling
