Vampire Sim Tech Demo [WORK IN PROGRESS]
Full 3D custom engine for single-player PC RPGs (first-person & turnbased) coded in classic C (with a lot of help from Raylib, and industry-standard Lua scripting).
This is the foundation for several games in various stages of development:
- Synthnostate: Salem - Colonial New England vampire sim with an all-original vampire/sorcery ruleset loosely derived from pre-Hollywood fiction and folklore (NOT Twilight, Interview, VTM, etc)
- Synthnostate: ??? - scifi vampire sim (a very early Godot-based prototype is available below)
- Synthnostate: Crusader Tactics - gunplay-centric turnbased tactics sandbox
- Synthnostate: Crusaders - turnbased alien disclosure conspiracy sim (an old demo version is available)
Development history: This project has been on the drawing board in some form since... 2013? First-person 3D was too ambitious for me at the time, so I started making 2D isometric custom engines, then simple 3D, and finally a Godot-based prototype with PBR textures - then I went back to a custom engine.

Install instructions
The ZIP files contain both Windows and Linux EXEs. Just unzip and run.
Linux users may have better luck running the Windows EXE in WINE/Proton.

Tried it out, clearly it's pretty early development and has a long way to go. :)
One thing that I found quite annoying is the fact that mouse control inverts the up and down. I'd like it if the mouse up and down could be reversed.
Oh yeah, I can’t stand non-inverted controls, I’ll add that setting in the next version.
