Synthnostate: Sanguinity - WIP Demo v0.2.1
Development has been slower due to workload, but I’ve made some progress on my current focus - a regular devstream schedule, art cleanup, standardized clothing system, AND eight character models for variety. This is a good point to do some polishing and upload a new demo.
In the next phase we’re gonna focus on gameplay, enough to keep the player occupied for several days in-game so we can start to experiment with the long-term progression mechanics. We’re gonna make combat difficult enough require advancement and also start you off unarmed, and I want to add a mechanic to wield random objects as weapons, mainly so if some NPC holds a cross up in your face you can laugh, snatch it, and beat ‘em with it. That’ll be funny. However, we have established that the invitation-required rule holds true - not for some magical reason, but just because vampires who draw too much attention to their feeding habits tend to get hunted down.
There’s still work to do on the visual style, lighting and environment, cyberpunk-ish character appearance and setting… that’s gonna keep me busy for a long, long time. I think I’ll just start with some video thumbnails focusing in on the fangs, with a little more cyberpunk vibe too. Gotta get people’s attention somehow, lol.
